Launch Day

Welcome to PlotterFiles!

Previously, I started DrawingBots.net to help bring plotter enthusiasts together, discover tools and discover people that are pushing the boundaries of plotter art. Over the past two years I have accumulated deep understanding about creation of vector files suitable for plotters and wanted to start sharing what I’ve learned on a platform dedicated to plotter art. I wanted to build a community that helps each other, inspires each other and is ever expanding.

History

Over two years ago I had an idea for a website where drawing robot enthusiasts could share ready-to-plot SVG files, find plotter artwork trends, discover artists and use browser-based SVG generators to create new files. I spent significant amount of time thinking about this website, designing it bit by bit, planning and developing it in my free time. After working on the website on and off, going through a variety of hurdles, it is finally ready for your enjoyment.

Today as I launch PlotterFiles, I want to thank those who helped me get to this point and those who have been instrumental in building this project:

  • Evil Mad Scientist for their awesome AxiDraw machines
  • The beta testers (the first 17 artists registered on the site who have shared 25+ beautiful files already)
  • Open source contributors behind the projects that helped me create the site: Laravel, NuxtJS, Geist UI and many more.
  • Osvaldo Abel who helped me develop the API for this site using Laravel framework

Without these people, PlotterFiles would not be possible and I’m deeply grateful for their help.
